Since some people want to edit, I made a tutorial for this.
This is a tutorial for editing a map on sof2 full. If you read this tutorial you know the first steps for creating a map with boxes/fences etc. Later advanced tutorials will follow. If you have any question, please make a new thread and if I can I will answer them.
First of all you need to download the latest 1fx mod. In this tutorial I use the 1fx mod 0.70. You can download it right here:
1fx.uk.to/site/1fxmod-downloads.php
It’s useful to download a minimizer for sof2. This allows you to minimize sof2, so you don’t always have to close your sof2 when editing. You can download the sof2 minimizer right here:
www.mediafire.com/download/0yrd29eie9wudti/SoF2+Minimizer.exe
Put this minimizer in your sof2 folder. This should look like this:
Double-click on this minimizer, so it is working. If you have your sof2 running, you can now use the shortcut ctrl+z to minimize your sof2. This is a very useful program.
The 1fx mod you already downloaded is an .zip file. You need to copy this file to your sof2 folder. In this folder you need to extract this file. For extracting a file you need a program. Most common programs are WinZip or WinRar. If you dont have a program like this, you can download it here:
winrar.nl.softonic.com/
Because I have a Dutch language it says: 'Hier uitpakken', but in English it will say: ‘Extract here’. If you do it right, it should look like this:
If you look in the folder called RPM, you will notice that there are a lot of different folders in there. The first thing you need to do now is double-click on the start server.bat. The server is now starting and you will get a console for the server. In this console you type your rconpassword. In my situation i put the rconpassword camal. You can do this like this:
If you start your sof, you can now see your server in local. In my case it’s called ‘Willekom!!’, but you probably have a name like ‘1fx powered’. It looks like this:
Now join your server and walk around. The standard map that starts is mp_shop. With the rconpassword you chose in the serverconsole, you can give yourself admin. You need to put the following lines in your sof2 console (open your console of sof with ~):
1st line: rconpassword camal
2nd line: rcon addsadmin <id>. If your id is 0, you can do it like this: rcon addsadmin 0. You now have s-admin powers!
It should look like this:
For 3d you want to make a h&s map. So you can now say:
!gt h&s
The gametype will now change to hide&seek. This looks like this:
Now walk to the place you want to put a box. In this example I’m going to put a box on the roof from the map mp_shop. Walk to the place you want your box and type in your console: /viewpos. You can now see the x,y and z-coordinates for your box. This are the first 3 coordinates when you do /viewpos.
It should look like this:
In the example the coordinates are: 2887 1858 689
These values are your x, y and z values.
If you make the x coordinate higher or lower the box will move to the right or the left.
If you make the y coordinate higher or lower the box will move forward or backwards.
If you make the z coordinate higher or lower the box will be placed higher or lower.
Now go back to your sof folder. In the map rpm you can find a folder called maps. In this folder you can find the folder h&s and in this folder you can see some .ent files. You can open these files with a program called notepad. This is a standard program on your computer. You can open this file like this:
When you open it, you see a lot of codes. You can now put a box with adding the following code:
{
"classname" "misc_bsp"
"bspmodel" "instances/colombia/npc_jump1"
"origin" "2887 1858 689"
"angles" "0 0 0"
}
We already did /viewpos, so we know the origin is 2887 1858 689. It should look like this in the notepad file:
If you save this mp_shop.ent file, the map mp_shop should have a box now on the origin you wanted. You only have to do !mr now in your sof2, so the box will be added to the map. This should look like this:
You now created your first box! It should look like this:
If you want to put other things than only a box, you can find the codes of some of them here with pictures:
editorsbase.tk/ -> on this site go to BSP’s.
The origin gives the position of the box. The angles gives you the rotation of the box in degrees. If you for example want the box turned 90 degrees, you make it like this:
{
"classname" "misc_bsp"
"bspmodel" "instances/colombia/npc_jump1"
"origin" "2887 1858 689"
"angles" "0 90 0"
}
I hope this will give you enough information for beginning with editting! Advanced exercises will follow soon!
